Our Story

The Heartstrings began in 2015 as a solo project, with Jacob stepping into the scene for the first time at the Nippenose Tavern near Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Armed with an acoustic guitar and a love for country music with a rock edge, those early shows were about learning, growing, and discovering what kind of artist he wanted to become.

Not long after, Jacob’s sister Maria joined, followed by his brother Brian, and The Heartstrings officially became a trio. For several years, the band built its reputation the old-fashioned way — playing anywhere they could, performing mostly cover songs, and learning how to connect with a crowd. Those years were spent grinding, improving, and developing the chemistry that would become the foundation of the band.

Around 2020, everything began to shift. Jacob started writing songs he was genuinely proud of — songs rooted in real life, heartbreak, late nights, and deep personal reflection. Songwriting became more than a hobby; it became the heartbeat of The Heartstrings’ future.

In 2022, longtime friend Jake joined the lineup, bringing new energy and helping push the band into its next chapter. With a full band and a growing catalog of original material, The Heartstrings began releasing music that truly reflected who they were.

That journey started with their first singles: “Whiskey River” (2023), “Thanks to You” (2023), and “Washed Up” (2024), followed by “Gone” and “Booze” featuring Adam Yarger (2025). These releases led to the band’s debut album, Sad Cowboy.

Released in 2025, Sad Cowboy leaned heavily into the rock side of country and captured a deeply emotional period in the band’s life. The album told stories of long drives, empty bottles, broken relationships, sleepless nights, and trying to make sense of heartbreak. Songs like “Booze,” “Gone,” and “Whiskey River” explored coping through escape, while “Over,” “Hate You,” and “Thanks to You” reflected anger, regret, and the struggle to move on. Tracks like “Washed Up,” “Lead Me On,” and “Insomnia” revealed the quieter moments of loneliness and self-reflection.

Written during lonely nights and seasons of emotional struggle, Sad Cowboy felt more like a diary than a playlist. It showed fans the vulnerable side behind the high-energy performances and became a defining chapter in The Heartstrings’ story.

Following the release of Sad Cowboy, the band continued to grow creatively. They released “Lonely Tonight,” a song Jacob originally began writing in high school, along with “Alone” in 2025. These songs bridged the emotional depth of their early work with a clearer artistic direction.

In 2026, The Heartstrings entered a new era. After releasing the fun, high-energy “Cowboy Killer,” they prepared for the release of “R-O-W-D-Y” featuring Tyler Ruef on March 6, 2026, followed by their sophomore album Trailer Park Poems on March 20, 2026.

More than just a collection of songs, Trailer Park Poems was built around a clear concept. The album mirrors the arc of a rowdy Friday night — beginning with the excitement of going out with friends, loud music, and reckless energy, and slowly winding down into quiet, reflective moments of being home alone. It captures both the chaos and the emotional comedown that comes with living fast.

The record opens in full party mode with songs like “R-O-W-D-Y,” “My Truck,” and “Lucky,” celebrating freedom, humor, and late-night mischief. As the album unfolds, tracks like “Cowboy Killer” and “These Days” introduce heartbreak and warning signs beneath the surface. By the second half, songs such as “Had Enough,” “Lonely Tonight,” and “Coming Home” explore loneliness, unanswered calls, and emotional vulnerability. The album closes with “Alone” and “Lying,” confronting isolation and self-deception head-on.

Musically, Trailer Park Poems leans more into country influences than past releases while still maintaining The Heartstrings’ gritty, genre-blending “kuntry rock” sound. It isn’t traditional country, and it isn’t polished pop-country. It lives in its own lane — shaped by real experiences, small-town life, and years of playing.

Unlike earlier projects that grew organically from individual songs, Trailer Park Poems was created with intention. It reflects a clearer vision, stronger confidence, and a deeper understanding of storytelling through music.

In 2026, the band also takes another major step forward by launching their first full-band tour, bringing The Heartstrings’ high-energy live show to new cities and new audiences. After years of building their fanbase regionally, this tour marks the beginning of a new chapter — expanding their reach while staying true to their roots.

Today, The Heartstrings continue to evolve while staying rooted in what brought them together in the first place: family, friendship, honesty, and a love for live music. Known for their high-energy shows, emotional authenticity, and loyal fanbase, the band has become a staple on regional stages, festivals, and sold-out hometown nights.

From that first solo show at the Nippenose Tavern to multiple albums, regional tours, and major release events, The Heartstrings’ journey has been built on persistence, passion, and genuine connection.

And the story is far from finished.
